Pickleball for All by Rachel Simon is the first book of its kind that walks through the history of pickleball, how to play the game, personal stories from amateurs to pros, to the best places to play pickleball.
Since starting Vossberg Gainor in 2019, I have had the pleasure of meeting a great deal of talented professionals within the pickleball space. Most notably, I was introduced to Rachel Simon, author of Pickleball for All, while leading the media relations efforts for USA Pickleball. Rachel Simon had first reached out in 2020 when she wrote her first New York Times article on pickleball: Is Pickleball the Perfect Pandemic Pasttime? And ever since that interview, I have had the great pleasure of watching her career grow and flourish as she continues to write great stories about the sport of pickleball.
Since meeting Simon in 2020, she has pitched numerous articles to editors on the topics of pickleball and has had her writing featured on Glamour, Forbes, Parents.com, and many more noteworthy platforms. As her passion for the sport grew, Simon was approached by Harper Collins to write a book about the sport of pickleball. It was always an honor to see Rachel’s name in my inbox and admired her passion for the sport as she continually worked hard to get the sport into the media spotlight. When she reached out to me stating she had an opportunity to write this book, I was excited to make numerous intros that would get the chance to share their stories through Simon’s talented writing style. Through the writings of her book, Pickleball for All, Simon is the first to write an entire book that walks through the history of pickleball, how to play the game, personal stories from amateurs to pros, to the best places to play pickleball.
As the August 30th book launch date approaches, I setup a video interview with Simon while I was visiting one of the top pickleball destinations in Florida - The Pickle Garden at The Yards in Ponte Vedra, Florida. Together, we discussed details about the book, how she started writing about the topic of pickleball for some of the largest media outlets in the world, to what’s next in the media world as media outlets continue to create unique pickleball trending topics to earn hits.
